I qualified with a diploma in Podiatric Medicine from Cardiff University in 1988 and went on to study further to gain a BSc from Westminster university. My first job was working for Nottingham health authority.

I am a member of the Royal college of Podiatry and a member of the health and care Professions Council (formally known as State Registration). This is the only qualification that is recognized for employment in the National Health Service. The health and care Professions Council (HCPC) is a regulatory body.

The valuable experience that I gained in employment allowed me to set up private practice in Essex. I started out in a one room clinic with just myself as the Podiatrist with no other support.

At the same time, I also set up a Podiatry Clinic in the medical department of the Ford's Dunton Technical Centre in Essex.

Over the years I have learned that we are not just treating feet, but we are treating the whole person as pain can affect all aspects of a person’s life. I have continued with my professional development throughout the years which in turn has enabled me to grow my practice whereby we now have a team which includes front of house support, Podiatrists and a beauty and laser therapist. I have also been able to open another site in Billericay and I work very closely with my sister Anita who is also a Podiatrist and owns the Romford branch.

Having a team has meant that I have been able to devote time to research and bring into the Practice new and innovative equipment. This has allowed me to concentrate on foot health education, particularly important for the diabetic patients m and further serve the community.

I have a special interest in being able to provide comfortable good-looking footwear, insoles, and prescription orthosis for our patients and again over time I have been able to expand and train our team to deliver a bespoke service.

I enjoy treating a variety of foot health problems to include all manner of foot pain, skin, and nail conditions however general footcare and prevention is most of my work and I take great pride in ensuring that patients walk away from us in a much better way than they walked in. Of course, many will go away saying that they are ‘walking on air.’

The pandemic has been challenging but I have been able to return with the support of my team and adjust the way that we work so that we can offer a covid safety environment for all attending our clinics as well as for our in-house team.

I am proud and humbled of how our team have pulled together and how they approach their work in a professional and most important to me a caring and sensitive manner.

My mission is to improve the quality of my patients lives, keep them mobile and pain free so they can do the things that they love to do. I will strive to keep up to date with new technology and treatments.

My hobbies are spending quality time with my family and friends. Love to travel and meet new people when I can. I like reading, exercise, Zumba, body balance pilates and the odd dance. I also enjoy cooking and trying different types of cuisine and that does mean that I enjoy watching bake off and masterchef on tv.

I started out as a receptionist at the Basildon Surgery in 2011.Over the years I have developed an interest and expertise in fitting footwear tailored to patients’ individual needs.

I have a great understanding of the challenges people face in finding the right footwear to enable them to walk in comfort and now I am confidently able to advise and carry out footwear assessments as needed.

I love being part of the Basildon podiatry team and over the years I feel that I have built a great bond with Sushila. We have a good working relationship whereby we can laugh and have fun together. This is so important to me as I like to take my work seriously but want to be content and always look forward to coming to work.

I have built a rapour with the regular patients and always look forward to chatting with them, especially some of our elderly patients, whom I realize that, I may be the only person that they will have communicated with in person for that day or even longer.

I love speaking to and meeting all the different types of people that come through our door and I am here to make appointments for any of the services that are offered at the Surgery and answer any queries that they may have.

My hobbies are going to the Gym and Yoga.

I joined Basildon Podiatry in June 2020 just as we returned from being in lockdown. I had already started training prior to the pandemic and was a little nervous to begin with especially as I had been at home for a while, and I knew that things were going to be different at the surgery. I was put at ease by Sushila and Simone and was able to fulfil the role of front of house support and receptionist with no issues at all.

I have embraced the footwear aspect of the role and I now understand the various footwear needs of our patients and can confidently support Sushila or any of our Podiatrists when they require their patients to be fitted with appropriate shoes, sandals, or slippers.

I am learning all the time and I am amazed to see people coming in in pain with their feet or legs and leaving pain free. I have, over the months began to get to know our regular patients and look forward to having a chat with them. Sushila and her team at the practices in Billericay and Romford are a sociable and friendly bunch and I am looking forward to spending more time with them as we come out of the pandemic.

My hobbies are travelling (when allowed!) theatre, reading, spending quality time with my daughter and regular attendance at quiz nights.

I have recently joined the Basildon and Billericay team and I am Looking forward to treating a range of different conditions. I throughly enjoy meeting new patients and building relationships with patients.

I have previous experience working within the national health service which allowed me to gain valuable experience. I am very happy to be part of an amazing team where everyone is very welcoming

In my free time I like to go to the gym.

I earned my BSc (Hons) Degree in Podiatric Medicine at UEL, London, while simultaneously contributing to Greenwich PCT in Kent since 2007. While part-time in the NHS, I practised privately in Dulwich, Harlow, and Benfleet, and had the privilege of joining Sushila Patel in treating in-house at Fords Motors, Dunton, for a delightful 3.5 years starting in 2011. I'm thrilled to rejoin Sushila’s Team!

I am pleased to be using cutting-edge equipment at Basildon and Billericay such as the swift to treat verrucae, the laser machine for fungal nails and the latest digital gait analysis technology. I hold a strong desire to rid the world of fungal nails one toenail at a time!

With a Journalism and Publishing Degree, I specialise in contributing to dermatology research, with a focus on 'Faulkner’s Needling of Verrucae.'

Additionally, I excel in routine Podiatry treatments, delighting in surgeries like ingrowing toe and fingernail resolutions, wound suturing, have a passion for Aesthetic Podiatry, and innovative wound care approaches for challenging cases, including diabetic and elderly patients with mobility issues and those with Rheumatological conditions.

Beyond Podiatry, my hobbies are writing/reading poetry, contemplating the book I'll write someday, swimming, dressmaking, knitting, and always studying more ways to improve my life and of those around me. 

I qualified from UEL as a Podiatrist in 2006. My first job was working within the South East Essex NHS. I stayed there for 2 years gaining valuable clinical experience and the confidence to be able to set up my own private practice. I happily worked within my own setting for 11 years but then felt that something was lacking and that I would benefit from being part of a team.

I took up the opportunity of joining Basildon and Billericay Podiatry right in the middle of the pandemic. I was a little apprehensive to begin with, however I soon became an integral part of the Practices. I enjoy treating a wide variety of conditions and meeting all the patients but especially those that have been attending for regular treatments over the years. The whole team have been welcoming, kind and professional.

I love to walk, swim and exercise in my spare time and enjoy most spending time with my friends and family.
